Home Insolvencies Insolvencies with Unkown Date News Links FAQ Contact Us Home We are a non-profit organization which performs its functions under a plan of operation established and approved under the Act enacted by the Oklahoma Legislature on June 27, 1980. (O.S. Title 36. Chapter 1. Article 20A. §§2001-2020.2) The Association is managed and administered by a board of twelve directors whose members do business in Oklahoma. All insurers defined as member insurers are required to be members of the Association as a condition to transact insurance business in the State of Oklahoma. The Association is allowed to pay only covered claims of an insolvent insurer” which is defined by the Act as an insurer licensed by the Insurance Commissioner to transact insurance in this state either at the time the policy was issued or when the insured event occurred and determined to be insolvent and ordered liquidated by a court of competent jurisdiction. Thus, both a declaration of insolvency and an order of liquidation is required to trigger the Association’s statutory obligations. After a final order of liquidation is entered, the Association may experience a high call volume. You may contact us via the email address and fax number shown on our Contact page. If calling our office, please leave a message that includes your name, your contact phone number, your claim number and/or policy number, and a brief message. Calls are returned in the order received. The Association cannot process or pay claims, including those for unearned premium, until the receiver/liquidator of the insolvent insurer transfers claims data and documents to our office. This process may take several weeks after a final order of liquidation is entered. As transferred claims are uploaded into our system and reviewed, policyholders and claimants will be contacted. If you are a former policyholder with a claim for return of unearned premium or property damage, we ask that you refrain from calling us multiple times to get a status update. This impedes our ability to process claims in a timely manner.
